The Award of Excellence is given to those Scholarship Holders who have achieved the most outstanding academic performance and contributed to the development of the Stipendium Hungaricum community. The award was presented by Miklós Lengyel, Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Check out our interview with Khishigbuyan from Mongolia.
What is the best earning of studying in Hungary?
Stepping onto a new domain or boundaries to meet with different cultures, specifically far different from the culture that I have been raised by. Also gives a greater possibility of meeting with diverse nationalities in and outside of the class. Not to forget travelling around Hungary and other Schengen countries is a prestigious opportunity. Hungarian schools, notably in some fields, give remarkably valuable experience and knowledge.
What is the best earning of being an SH student?
Stipendium Hungaricum absolutely helps and smoothens the process of adapting to an entirely new environment by providing financial means and medical insurance. Therefore, especially students from abroad benefit greatly. The international contact and friends I gained during the programme are so immense that is beyond my articulatory skill.
How did the scholarship contribute to improving your professional and/or personal skills?
It definitely helped me to develop personally, improve and explore beyond what I was capable of or my abilities, exceptionally to mention language-wise. With the assistance of the Scholarship, I was able to meet great tutors who helped me throughout the courses. Secondly, managing my own finances was one of the first challenges that I faced and which I eventually ended up mastering.
How can Stipendium Hungaricum contribute to being successful in the labour market?
I, personally think, that besides the study programme providing more work experience or internship and connections to the relatable and respective work field is important and will definitely help students to have a grasp or understanding of how the labour market and working environment really is. Especially, if the working company is international so do the students, it will have added value to the programme.
What would you advise for those who are planning to apply for the SH scholarship?
I could answer this with tens of pages, but I will try to keep my answer as simple as possible. First starting with the emotional and mental capacity to overcome challenges, which is perhaps the most important skill. It is necessary to have these above. Secondly, having the self-trust or belief that you can manage or do it is pivotal. Last but not least, please focus on your studies, as it should be the main goal during the programme. Needless to say, Stipendium Hungaricum provides absolute care and assistance for anything you need during the study.
