Mokrani Ali, Ambassador of Algeria to Hungary welcomed State Secretary Orsolya Pacsay-Tomassich at a reception for Algerian students participating in the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme. The event was held on 28 February, 2020, at the Liz Ballroom of the Budapest Marriott Hotel.
In her speech the State Secretary stated that student mobility is one of the key elements of the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, and the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme launched in 2013 is the most important student mobility programme of the Hungarian Government.
In this academic year there are no less than 113 Algerian scholarship holders studying at Hungarian higher education institutions. But in the recent application period that ended on 15 January, a total of 1,177 applications were submitted, which is nearly four-times more than last year. Orsolya Pacsay-Tomassich expressed her hope that that this time next year the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme will be able to welcome even more Algerian students in our beautiful country.
