Coronavirus – Latest news II.

As per the related Hungarian laws and EU regulations, border control between Hungary and the Republic of Slovenia, and between Hungary and the Republic of Austria will be reestablished with temporary effect.

Summary to the international elements
of the executive order (40/2020 (III. 11.)) on State of Emergency 

Reestablishing border control on the Slovenian and Austrian Borders:

As per the related Hungarian laws and EU regulations, border control between Hungary and the Republic of Slovenia, and between Hungary and the Republic of Austria will be reestablished with temporary effect.

In order to halt the spread of nCOVID-19,  and to keep new cases from crossing the border, passenger traffic regarding the countries of the Republic of Italy, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Korea and the Islamic Republic of Iran is subjected to the following measures:

  • Passenger traffic – air (except if passing through Hungary without landing), bus and train traffic – arriving from the Republic of Italy, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Korea and the Islamic Republic of Iran is denied from entering Hungary.
  • Passengers who are not Hungarian citizens and arriving from the Republic of Italy, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Korea and the Islamic Republic of Iran are denied from entering.
  • Hungarian citizens, arriving from the Republic of Italy, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Korea and the Islamic Republic of Iran are subjected to the following mandatory measures:
    • upon entering Hungary passengers are subjected to mandatory health inspection,
    • should the suspicion on nCOVID-19 infection arise, the subjects will be placed in one of the designated quarantines.
    • should the inspection result without suspicion of nCOVID-19 infection, then the subjects are bound to mandatory home quarantine for 14 days, with the following additional measures:
      • quarantined subjects will be registered by the authorities,
      • authorities are going to monitor the subjects’ compliance regarding the quarantine rules through the Hungarian police force.
    • should the inspection result without suspicion of nCOVID-19 infection, and the subjects are not residents of Hungary, then
      • the subjects are to leave Hungary, as per the regulatory provisions, or
      • the subjects are placed in one of the designated quarantines.
    • Supplying quarantined individuals is the responsibility of the municipal authorities.

These measures are to take effect starting March 12, 2020.
