Stipendium Hungaricum is a fantastic journey so far. Thousands of foreign students come to Hungary each year from all over the world to study. Located in the heart of Europe, Hungary is a relatively inexpensive country with quality education, many historical attractions and inexhaustible cultural and leisure opportunities. Studying in Budapest promises to be the experience of a lifetime.
I heard that adjusting yourself to a new country with different people and culture is a hard job. However, in my case, everything was smooth and that was just because of SHMN program. I wanted to pass such helps to my junior mentees, therefore, decided to become a mentor and I am really happy to see the smiles in my mentees’ faces.
I love to meet new people and make new friends. Therefore, for me, the most enjoyable part of the mentorship was the first-time meeting with the mentees and slowly knowing them.
In my one-year mentorship experience, I have faced that meeting all the mentees together in one place was the most difficult and challenging job. People most often didn’t use to keep promises.
Mentoring is an important job, not only because of the skills and knowledge students can learn from their mentors, but also because mentoring provides professional socialization and personal support to facilitate success in graduate school and beyond.
