About me
My name is Farkas Máté András, I’m 25 years old and I’m learning mechanical engineering. I joined the Stipendium Hungaricum in 2019 as a mentor.
The work with the foreigner students is always exciting and a new experience. Every time when I work with them I learn also something new.
I think Hungary is a great destination because if they like, they can travel easily to other countries and experience the european life and culture. Hungary is a great place to start a journey of a lifetime.
I was inspired to help people and to experience cultures, lifestyles of the people from foreign countries. I also wanted to improve my language skills.
As a mentor the hardest part for me was to build up trust between mentor and mentee, so if they have problems or issues, they could put their trust in me.
I enjoy the parts where I can help others, I really loved the trips, which brought the mentors and mentees more close.
It’s really hard to get used to a new country and they need guidance with handling the new situation, lifestyle.
It’s always good to know that you can rely on someone, especially if you are far away from home.
