Application for the Students at Risk Subprogramme for the spring semester of the academic year of 2023/2024 is open!

 

The Students at Risk Subprogramme is an addition to the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme and is supervised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and managed by the Tempus Public Foundation. Its goal is to provide assistance to Ukranian students and doctoral candidates whose studies or research are interrupted because of war, catastrophe, prosecution etc.For students fleeing the war in Ukraine, the subprogramme provides scholarships for studies in Hungarian higher education institutions. The present application is open for Ukrainian citizens who wish to pursue higher education studies in a Hungarian higher education institution. The opportunity is also open for those who already pursued higher education studies before and those who only have a secondary school graduation certificate (and who will have obtained a secondary school graduation certificate by the time of the enrolment).

For Ukrainian citizens the application deadline for the spring (second) semester of the Academic Year 2023/24 is 9 October 2023, 2 pm (Central European Time)

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS 2023 / 2024 SPRING

The application system will open on 28 August. All applications shall be submitted through the online application system of Tempus Public Foundation. The online application system can be accessed at https://apply.stipendiumhungaricum.hu/.

The purpose of the new Call for Applications is to help those Ukrainian citizens who wish to start their academic studies in Hungary in the spring semester of the Academic Year 2023/24.

ELIGIBILITY

The eligibility requirements should be checked in the Calls for Applications.

PROVISIONS

The scholarship holders starting their studies in the spring semester of the Academic Year 2023/24 are entitled to a tuition-free education, a monthly stipend (HUF 43,700 at non-degree, bachelor’s, master’s and one-tier master’s level and HUF 140,000/180,000 at doctoral level), accommodation contribution (HUF 40 000 ft)  or free dormitory place, and medical insurance.

STUDY FIELDS, STUDY PROGRAMMES AND HOST UNIVERSITIES

The available study programmes and Host Institutions are accessible in the online application system (https://apply.stipendiumhungaricum.hu/). Applicants with Ukrainian citizenship can choose any study field and study programme that are offered in the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme. Similarly, applicants can apply to study at those Hungarian higher education institutions that are involved in the Stipendium Hungaricum Programme. The majority of study programmes are offered in the English language. Ukrainian citizens are also offered Hungarian Language and English Language Preparatory Programmes before starting their full degree studies.

In addition to the first choice of study programme, there is an opportunity to apply for an additional, second study programme. Therefore, each applicant can apply for up to TWO different study programmes in order of preference. The second study programme can be only a Hungarian language or an English language preparatory course. Other study programmes selected as a second choice will not be considered.

Nota bene: Please do check the eligibility criteria in the Calls for Applications, including the requirements about citizenship. A statement is part of the application package where the applicants need to declare their citizenship. Making a false statement results in getting excluded from the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme for 10 years!
